U12 97 Girls White coached by Josh Avenmarg were the champions in the
U13 Silver Bracket in the Emerald Cup in Destin Florida.

Defeated Navarre Beach 3-1
Defeated Bayside 2-1
Defeated Bayside in the finals 3-2

Mississippi Fire 98 Boys Red – Mississippi Fire Spring Classic Champions!!

The Fire U-11 98 Boys Red, coached by Fenton Graham, brought home the gold from the 2009 Mississippi Fire Spring Classic Tournament held April 3rd-5th. The team finished the weekend with a total of 10 goals scored and 3 allowed, winning the championship game 3-0.  Congratulations Fire 98 Boys Red!!

The Fire U-11 98 Boys Red, coached by Fenton Graham, brought home the gold from the 2009 Emerald Coast Cup held April 25th -26th in Destin, FL. The team finished the weekend with a total of 20 goals scored and 7 allowed with a record of 4 wins and no losses. The team won the championship game in overtime 5-2.  Additional spring tournament gold wins include the Mississippi Fire Spring Classic held in Madison, MS, and the 29th annual Magnolia Cup tournament held in Clinton, MS. The team also won silver at the Vulcan Cup held in Birmingham, AL, March 7th-8th. Congratulations MS Fire 98 Boys Red!!

The Fire 98 Boys White, coached by Rigo Cedeno, were finalists in the Fire Spring Classic this weekend.  They lost a hard fought game 2 – 1 to the Little Rock FC 98 Blue team in the Championship.


96 Girls White win 2009 Spring Classic Tournament

The Fire U-13 96 Girls White, coached by Derick Washer, brought home the gold from the 2009 Spring Classic Tournament held March 28-29th. The team finished the weekend with a total of 11 goals scored and only 1 allowed.  This win follows another recent tournament victory in the 29th annual Magnolia Cup tournament, which was held in Clinton, MS, February 21-22nd. The girls, who played in the U-14 Gold bracket, notched a total of 7 goals and allowed only 1. Congratulations on both tournament wins!

"Our Mick"
   
Mick Fullerton a member of the Mississippi Fire '90/U18 Boys White team was killed Thursday, November 1  in an accident that also took the life of his 14 year old sister, Caitlin. Mick was an original team member having joined the team when it formed at U11 and had anchored the back line since that time. He was admired by his teammates for many things including his loyalty to his friends and family, his work ethic and his love of the game. He was also a member of the Northwest Rankin High School team. Caitlin was also a student at Northwest Rankin High School. Mick and Caitlin are survived by their parents, Jay and Elaine Fullerton and brother, Will.  Jay, Elaine, Mick and Caitlin traveled together as a family to soccer events all across the country. Jay is the travel coordinator for the 18B White and was the driving force behind organizing the  '90 Boys European tour in 2006.


An account has been established at Bancorp South to honor Mick and Caitlin which Jay and Elaine will use for soccer scholarships for those who loved the game like Mick and have the enthusiasm for it that Caitlin did.
